Today we finished day too many of harvest. The day was good though. There were no break downs, we had three truck drivers and covered a lot of ground.
The wheat we cut was for the most part terrible, but since my uncle Steven is cutting this particular farm on contract (it isn't his) the quality of the wheat isn't weighing on our minds.
It will be interesting to see the per acre average as the crop has been outstandlingly good in some parts as I mentioned in my previous post.
We had thought that we would have finished quite a few days ago. But this was our reasoning back in July. Throughout August there has been a lot of rain which has set us back many days. Three truck drivers have come and then had to leave before we had finished. One of the truck drivers (Lance Bonnington) and myself (combine driver) have extended our stays so as to be able to help until the end of harvest.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
My bedspread is green
And though I got off the combine two hours ago I still feel like I'm on it and it's moving.

Harvest Rant and Rave
From the best to the worst. That's the kind of wheat what I've been cutting from the seat of the 1480 international combine harvester I've been running.
The fields we've harvested are filled with opposites. We've cut what had the appearance of a dead diseased waste of dry weeds, clouds of fungus spores and finally...wheat...the kind you'd expect to find in a dry weedy waste.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Dearest dry lightning
Never mind
Oh boy, my harvest rant, much shorter than what swirled in my mind while bumping and twisting down draws and over hills harvesting the stuff. Water under the bridge I suppose which brings me now to my.
Havest Rave!
Oh the beauty of endless stretches of tall, thick, picture perfect standss of wheat with heavy bowed heads. A joy to see and a pleasure to cut.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Grains of perfection
I like ice cream!
Oh yes, and the cavernous draws, a joy to work in. From the bottom you see nothing but the high slopes all about. Then as you travel further and further in there are so many smaller draws branching off from the main one. A true beauty.
More coming

The Soldier
The soldiers heart is held by a bond, some call it bravery, but the soldier does not feel brave, he is simply bound.
The sound heard above all else is the drumbeat. The soldier does not miss a step, does not waver from the march to his own injury or death. He does not think himself brave or obedient. The soldier simply does not know of another path, but to keep step with the drumbeat.
The soldier is fueled by a deep, foundational, love of his cause. It is a part of him, the basis of his very creation. He is also driven by hate, a raw, incurable hatred for the enemy that would drive the soldier willingly to his own death to hinder the enemy's cause.
Victory is recognized by the soldier. The thought of it may motivate the soldier, or he may simply understand that it exists, seeing it as distant and non applicable to the duty at hand.
Retreat is something he has heard of but knows it "will never happen to me". Surrender, is not even acknowledged within his mind.
Glory is a happy and uplifting thought to the soldier. But he is not concerned whether his life end in eternal glory, or eternal pain and emptiness. He is willing to march, fight, and die all the same. His heart is bound, by the love and the hate. He will do his duty, for he can do no other.

Blessed are the peacemakers
Israel Wants War
If Israel wanted peace she would have:
1. Recognized the election of the Hamas party in 2006 and responded to Hamas overtures for peace and recognition of Israel by Arab states.
2. Honored the June 2008 truce by ending the blockade of Gaza as months went by without a single rocket attack.
3. Not broken the truce with Hamas on November 4th 2008.
4. Responded to Hamas' calls for a renewal of the ceasefire as the war escalated in late December 2008.
5. Would not be holding 9,000 Palestinians as prisoner (including much of the elected parliment) while bombing Palestinian territories in supposed retaliation for the imprisonment of a single Israeli soldier (Cpl. Gilad Shalit)
No, the truth is that Israel wants war because she knows she can win, nothing to do with homemade rockets which have only been fired in response to Israeli agressions. The goal, as before is an impoverished, subservient nation of Palestinian Arab refugees living on whatever waterless, non arable, shit pieces of land that Jewish settlers do not want for their own.
The undeniable, historically proven fact, is that if you treat people like animals, cut off their access to life's necessities while murdering them at will, those very people will give their lives to kill you.
Ask the Helot slaves of the ancient Spartans.
Ask the native Americans who left their reservations to raid their former lands which were settled by their displacers.
Just ask the Jewish heroes who rose up in their ghettos when they were the ones being persecuted in Nazi Europe.
Just ask the Palestinian Arabs.
May God bless the peacemakers with the same peace and goodwill they seek for others, and may He damn the war makers with the very hell they create.

Footballing Rantings of Mexican Footbll League.
Here's what's up in Mexican footbal.
Toluca! Became champions of the Mexican Primera Division (first division) after beating Cruz Azul in an exciting final that saw each team win 2-0 on the other's home ground which lead to the final being settled by penalty kicks. IMO, a lame ending to an exciting finals.
Cruz Azul has shown themselves to be one of the best Mexican teams by coming in second place now two tournaments in a row.
Queretaro is the Champion of the Primera Division A (second division of Mexican football)
They will play home and away games against the next champion to determine which team get's promoted to the first division.
Leon (my team) continues to disappoint. It has now been more than six years since they were demoted from the first division, they've won three championships but have always lost the promotion matches. On the bright side, they have signed a new coach and several new world class players. Blah blah blah, let's see what happens.
Eight Mexican teams are currently playing the Interliga tournament in the US. This tournament doubles as an exhibition tournament for US fans and a qualification tournament for the South American club tournament Copa Libertadores.
Basically, the top eight Mexican teams after those that have already qualified for a major international tournament get to play in the Interliga. So unless a team literally lives in the toilet of success (sorry Puebla) they get to at least play in some kind of extra tournament besides the regular season.
All four Mexican teams that entered the North American Champions league are still in the competition as the tournament enters the quarter finals (top eight) The other four remaining teams are, Marathon (Honduras) Montreal Impact (Canada) Islanders (Puerto Rico) and Houston (USA) surprisingly only one US team and no Costa Rican teams have made it through to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile in the World Cup of Clubs, Pachuca (former North American champion) came in fourth place after beating African champions Al Ahly (Egypt) in a spectacular 4-2 win but then losing to the South American representative LDU Quito (Ecuador)and Gamba Osaka (Japan)
Okay, I'll stop now.

Act.
Do you want to do something for God that will please Him, change lives for the better, and be a part of His plan for a better world?
First of all, we must realize that God wants us to do these things for Him and that he has a plan for each of us.
Millions of believers live and die without knowing or accomplishing the specific plan that God has for them and the world is the worse for it.
The Devil, seeking to make us ineffective in curing the hurts of mankind , is eager and available to help us review all of our sins, failures (real or imagined) and weaknesses to the extent that we end up letting these shortcomings become a wall between us and God’s plan for our lives. Therefore negative thoughts and condemnation must be recognized as being from the Devil, the enemy of God, and must be resisted.
A laughably obvious, but even still overlooked truth is that, to get something done, one must actually do it.
How simple is that? Well, not very simple actually. Jesus tells us in the Bible that whoever doesn’t take up his cross and follow Him, is not worthy of Him. Carrying a cross like Jesus did, is not necessarily easy, and the end result is sacrificing your life for the good of others. Remember also that Jesus mocked and beaten along the way by the very ones He was giving his life for. Such a thing may sound familiar to you.
Therefore, if we are to fulfill God’s will for our lives we must both believe that He has a plan for us, and then once we have found His plan, we must do it, regardless of difficulties, discomfort, or disruption of our own ideas for our lives.
How can we find God’s will for our lives? We find God’s will by asking God to tell us His will. That is no metaphor, you must literally ask God in prayer to tell you His will for your life, and then wait until He tells you either through direct words a burden on your heart or both.
Having the faith to hear from God is of course vital to this process, therefore we must have our minds cleansed and open to Him through constant reading and meditation on God’s Word, communion with Him through prayer and praise, and guarding our minds from thoughts or input that is contrary to God’s Word.
The world is full of darkness, evil is on the rise, we must act. Every generation has their own unique chance to leave the world a very different place from what they were born into. It is now our turn to use the power of God to reverse the effects of sin on the lives of men.
The story of the human race is what is at stake. Act. The redemption or damnation of souls is what is at stake. Act.
